Processing of wastes containing organic material, e.g. green wastes, comprises mechanically processing and dehydrating the waste materials and subsequently transforming the dehydrated and compacted intermediate to a product that can be safely dumped in a landfill site or can be used as a fuel, where a microbiotic mixed culture with a portion of photo-synthetically acting microorganisms and luminescent microorganisms, preferably luminescent bacterial is added to the material before the dehydration process.
