The mechanism (10) has two resetting devices (20-1, 20-2) for two shift rods (12-1, 12-2) in a neutral position, respectively. The resetting devices are coupled in such a manner that the resetting devices of the two shift rods are loaded with pressure by loading a hydraulic actuator (14-1) with pressure for moving the associated shift rods to reset the shift rods in the neutral position. A mechanical locking device is provided between the two shift rods, where the hydraulic actuator (14-1) and another hydraulic actuator (14-2) are formed as a duplex operating cylinder.
