The cover is in two parts. The outer, annular section (10) is filled by a disc (11). They are held together by a catch- or clip connection. The outer annular section encloses the edge of the cover. The disc has a flat upper surface. It is alternatively slightly- or considerably curved. It covers an inner, open, circular surface of the annular section. Variants of the design are described, based on the foregoing principles. The parts of the cover are plastic and/or metal and a pedal operation mechanism may be fitted to raise it.
