An adsorption dryer for gaseous media comprises a pressure vessel filled with drying agent in a cylindrical chamber with distributor plates at the top and bottom and pistons backed up with gas-permeable plates and a compression spring, in which there are steps on the pistons fitting into grooves in the chamber wall and the mobility of the pistons is restricted by springs on the steps and in the grooves. An adsorption dryer for gaseous media comprises at least one pressure vessel (6) packed with drying agent (13) and mounted between lower and upper distributor plates (4, 5) with connections and ducts for the media, a cylindrical chamber (12) for the drying agent which is supported by pistons (14, 22) sealed against the chamber wall at the bottom and top, with a gas-permeable plate (27) and a compression spring (28) between the chamber and the piston (22) on at least one end, and sealed lines (34, 35) in the pistons between the chamber and the ducts in the distributor plates. There are also steps (19, 24) on the external edges of the pistons (facing away from the drying agent) and corresponding annular grooves (20, 25) on the inside of the chamber wall (16), and the mobility of the pistons in the direction of their adjacent distributor plates is restricted by springs (21, 26) seated in the grooves (20, 25) and on the steps.
