The book or brochure has book blocks (1) made of several folding curves (2) bonded in blocking spines and folded along a fold. A band or string shaped book mark (5) comprises a free end (5a) and a fixing end (5b). The fixing end of the book mark is passed through a hole (6) pierced in the region of the fold into one of the folding curves and is fixed at the folding curves. The holes are provided in a small distance to a head edge of the curves.
