The frame has frame elements (10, 12) joined by miters with a holding frame strip (18) for holding the edge of the pane (20) and a fixing frame (16) for application to the main surface of the glass pane. The frame elements are composite structures consisting of the metal profile (14) forming the holding strips and a wooden supporting profile forming the fixing frame.
