The device has a spring-loaded pendulum arm (58), which is designed for guiding a labeling belt (22). The arm is hinged to a drive place, and is assigned to a flexible brake shoe. The brake shoe is movably arranged along a preset path, and is assigned to a flexible spring unit. The brake shoe exhibits an impact surface that is provided with a brake pad. The preset path of the brake shoe is designed to change a contact point between the arm and the brake pad to the impact surface depending on a rotating position of the arm for causing a friction between the brake pad and the arm.
