Acoustic insulation for inner rooms, e.g. sound proofed rooms, examination rooms etc., has the floor structure (28) of the inner room (21) supported on the floor (12) of the building by a number of elastic strips (30), which can be of rubber or plastic foam. The vibration damping strips are secured to a lightweight metal frame (26) fitted to the underside of the inner floor structure.
