The device has a splitter (4) with an interface (41) arranged at a rear end of the extension of an another interface (42). A photo sensor scans strip pattern of light interference that is occurred by overlapping of two axial light rays. Data at the direction of motion and distance of the input device during movement of the input device are read and determined, by scanning the changes of the strip pattern of the light interference, which is found in the position of overlapping of the axial rays of light.
