The ratchet system has a body (1) with a circular opening (11) having two recesses (12) and into which a gear wheel (2) having teeth (22) on the outer diameter and (21) on the inner surface resides with two blocking elements (3,5) set into the recesses with compression springs (4,6) which are positioned by a knob (81) to engage teeth (34,54) against those (22) on the inner gear wheel. As the knob is partially rotated to engage a sprung (18) ball (17) into one or other of indentations (813) one of the blocking elements prevents rotation of the central teeth (21) in one direction and vice-versa.
