The LCD has a plate (10) with display fields (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16), and a set of light guiding plates (21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26) is provided under the plate. Light emitting diodes are provided at sides of the plates. Light shielding disks (20) are provided between the plates so that the plates cannot deflect the light of the diodes on adjacent plates, where background light for the fields of the LCD plate has different colors.
