Gabion basket (2,3) has wire grill walls consisting of at least two areas extending over the whole height and breadth of gabion basket. The area facing the sound source (4) is a chamber (5) made of sound-reflective, pressure-resistant and frost-proof stone material and the second area is a stabilizing bearing layer (6) made of monolithic solid stone. Sound-reflecting stone is hydraulic stone of class I, II or III, with a particle size of 100/200. The bearing layer is concrete. Between bearing layer and loose stone is a flexible layer of foil or another technical textile.
