The compress (1) is in two sections, connected to each other. One is next to the sole of the foot; the other extends over the foot. The sole section (2) is constructed as a carrier for a medicinal substance. It includes an outer layer of plush cotton wool or wool, and a fabric (8) permeable to the medicinal substance, these layers together forming a pocket (12). An upper layer together with the fabric layer, defines a further pocket (14). The layers have a front or side opening where the toes rest.
