The furniture (10) has a lighting device (13) arranged in a plate (11) of the furniture in a non-functioning position. A moving mechanism moves the lighting device, by a telescopic arm (12) on which the lighting device is mounted, to a functioning position in a direction perpendicular to the plate. The lighting device is at a distance to the plate in functioning position. The lighting device comprises a reflector which is mounted at one end of the arm. The plate has a recess (14) through which the lighting device enters inside the flank of the table in lowered no-functioning position.
