The wheel-chair has two drive wheels driven by a motor independent of each other, where each drive wheel is a part of a drive wheel module (2), which has a base body (7) that supports a drive assembly (15) to drive the drive wheels. The base body is fastened at a frame of the wheel-chair adjacent to one of the drive wheels, where the drive wheel is fixedly attached to the base body. The other drive wheel rotatably sits on a shaft and is attached to the base body. An independent claim is also included for a drive wheel for a wheelchair.
