A switch-pole unit (1) for low-voltage switchgear has a movable contact-carrier (2) for a movable switch contact (8) operating in conjunction with a positionally fixed switch-contact (5), as well as with a drive unit (22) for the movable contact carrier (2). The switch-pole (1) has a box-shaped housing, through the rear wall (3) of which runs a terminal rail (4) equipped with the positionally fixed switch-contacts (5); an additional terminal rail (6) also passes through this rear housing wall, and connects via a flexible conductor (7) to a hinged contact mounted as a movable switch-contact (8) on a shaft (17). On the opposite- facing walls of the switch-pole unit (1) and on the movable contact carrier (2), are arranged interacting guide devices for linear movement of the contact carrier (2) in the switch-pole unit (1).
