PURPOSE: A frequency multiplier with a detection controller is provided to be easily embodied in an IC and improve a multiplication performance of a frequency. CONSTITUTION: A phase transition section(200) outputs first and second signals responsive to an input signal. First and second buffers(210,230) buffer the first and second signals, respectively. A detection controller(250) detects a phase difference between the first and second signals responsive to the first and second signals, and output signals of the first and second buffers(210,230) and outputs first and second control signals. Third and fourth buffers(215,235) buffer output signals of the first and second buffers(210,230) responsive to the first and second control signals, respectively. A multiplication section(270) multiplies output signals of the third and fourth buffers(215,235). An output buffer(290) buffers an output signal of the multiplication section(270).
