Novel chiral compounds which are derivatives of acid esters of hexanoic, and # # of preparation, use is the synthesis of 2 - (bromomethyl) 2 - ethyl hexanoic chiral

New chiral compounds comprising esters of hexanoic acid and intermediates and their preparation, used in the preparation of the chiral compound 2-(bromomethyl)-2-ethyl-hexanoic acid (A). Intermediate compounds, (R) or (S) of formula (I) are new; R1 = OH or R'1(an activating group of the acid function); and R2 = 1-8C alkyl (optionally substituted by one or more halogen) or benzyl. Independent claims are also included for: (1) the preparation (I); (2) the use of (I) in the preparation of 2-(bromomethyl)-2-ethyl hexanoic acid (A); (3) new compound of 2-(bromomethyl)-2-ethyl hexanoic acid (A); and (4) intermediates of formulae (III), (III'), (IV), (IV1), (IV'), (IV'1), (V) and (VI).
