The assembly (10) has a rectangular tray (12) moving between a utilization position, in which the tray is orthogonal to a plane of a rear side of a backrest (22) of a seat, and a retracted position, in which the tray is folded against a frame (24) with a complementary shape. The tray delimits, in the retracted position, a closed space for objects. The frame has no base and extends along the rear side of the backrest. An open elastic clip (18) mounts the assembly on a rod of a headrest (20). A piece of fabric or a net is fixed on the backrest to form a storage bag (28).
