The device has a set of assemblies (11) with respective units comprising sleeves (12, 15), where the sleeve (12) is connected to a door (1) by a knuckle (5) and the sleeve (15) is fixed in rotation and displaceable in translation with respect to a rotational axis (A). Each sleeve has a helical fitting unit with grooves and a projecting part arranged on outer side of the respective sleeve. The sleeve (15) has a translational displacement unit formed of a jack displaceable from the sleeve (15) in the direction of the sleeve (12). An independent claim is also included for a seat of a motor vehicle.
