The subject of the present invention is the use, for the dyeing of human keratinous fibers, of a dyeing composition comprising at least one compound of formula (I) below: in which formula: A represents an optionally substituted monocytic aromatic heterocycle comprising 5 to 6 linkages, comprising at least one nitrogen atom and at least one other heteroatom; said heterocycle being optionally fused with a non-heterocyclic aromatic ring; or represents an optionally substituted six-membered monocyclic aromatic heterocycle comprising a nitrogen atom, condensed with a 6-membered non-heterocyclic aromatic ring; the group A which can be attached to the azo function via one of the members of the heterocycle or non-heterocyclic aromatic ring; R1 represents -NH-CO-R'1 or -NH-SO2-R R2 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkoxy group; an amino group bearing one or two substituents; an amino group monosubstituted with a phenyl radical optionally bearing a linear or branched C1-C4 alkoxy group, substituted with a group -D-NH-Phi (R1) (R3) -N = NA; R3 represents an atom of hydrogen; an alkyl radical; an alkoxy group; an optionally substituted amino group; when R2 and R3 represent two disubstituted amino groups borne by two adjacent carbon atoms, then said radicals R2 and R3 may form with these carbon atoms an optionally substituted heterocycle; at least one of two radicals R2 or R3 being different from hydrogen; X represents an anion or a mixture of anions.The invention likewise relates to a process for staining human keratin fibers in which such a composition is brought into contact with the fibers until the desired effect is obtained, in the presence or absence of an oxidizing agent, as well as a dyeing composition comprising at least one compound of formula (I) and at least one adjuvant.
