The method involves adding chemical components with a defined dosage using dosage units (110-116) to a substance to be burned and to a combustion gas appearing during combustion at places defined in time and in space according to the combustion. The chemical components are selected from a group of components based on the substance and the combustion gas. The addition of the chemical components forms a protection or passivation layer on a surface to be protected or to be covered. An independent claim is also included for a control system for a rubbish combustion installation.
