The device has a hygrometer (2) to generate a signal representing relative humidity of the air surrounding a motor vehicle. Current detectors (3-6) generate respectively signals representing a lit or unlit operation of a rear fog lamp, a side marker light, a main headlight and a front fog lamp of the vehicle. A processing and controlling device (C) processes the signals from the hygrometer and from the detectors, and generates an alert signal indicating that the monitored lamp does not operate according to the predetermined environment conditions. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle comprising a lamp operation`s environmental inadaptability indicating device.
