The weapon system, which can be launched from the water surface or below it, consists of a main explosive charge (15) and a warhead (4) that creates a parabolic mirror (12) in the water to direct pressure waves from the main charge towards the target (8). A second explosive charge (20) generates a pressure field, also known as an opto-explosive lens, that concentrates the pressure waves deflected by the mirror, which is formed by a series of deployed curved vanes.
