The holder has a cleat (1) for holding a container (2) containing a beverage and having a receiving plate (4) for the base of the container. The cleat has an anchoring unit for anchoring the cleat to an interior surface (3) of a motor vehicle and an open ring (5) conformed for surrounding partially a lateral surface of the container. The holder is folded in a position in which the plate and the ring are fixed to the cleat in an articulated manner for folding towards the cleat. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle comprising an inner decor panel that includes an opening for receiving a cup-holder.
