The pump has a low pressure compressor (1), a condenser (10), an evaporator (9) and a high pressure compressor (2). A four way valve (3) has an input (31) connected to a low pressure discharging tube (5) and an output connected to a non-turn valve (4). The four way valve controls the operation of the heat pump with the low pressure compressor, high pressure compressor or with both the compressors, where the high pressure compressor is disposed in series in upstream of the low pressure compressor. An independent claim is also included for a method for exploiting a heat pump.
