The element has an electrical conductor (1) integrated into a plastic support (2), and braided textile yarns (3) integrated totally or partially into the plastic support. The electrical conductor and the textile yarns form a structural unit with the support. The plastic support defines repellent areas at which an electrical contact can occur with any body or element external to the structural unit. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a linear element for electric fence.
