The block has upper and lower assembling sides (2, 3), facing sides (4, 5) and lateral joining sides (6, 7). The sides (2, 3) are rectified, and each of the sides (6, 7) has lateral projections (12, 13) and a central projection (10) extending from the side (3) to the side (2). The central projection is located at a distance, from each facing side, greater than one-thirds and lesser than two-thirds of the measured thickness of the block between the facing sides. The joining sides are symmetric with each other with respect to a central axis orthogonal to the sides (2, 3). An independent claim is also included for a method of fabricating a concrete slab or footer, for erecting a wall in prefabricated blocks.
