The present application relates to a cosmetic composition for treating or caring for the skin which comprises, in a physiologically acceptable medium, at least one cosmetic active agent and colored particles consisting of at least one inorganic pigment disposed inside a matrix said composition having an opacity less than or equal to 35%. The present application also relates to a cosmetic treatment method using this composition as well as the uses of this composition, in particular for lightening or homogenizing the complexion of the skin and for correcting the appearance of spots and dyschromias of the skin.
