The cylinder head, especially for a diesel engine, has two inlet ducts (1) that meet the combustion chamber face (3) via a valve seat (4) while their inlet ends (5) are located in the side face of the head, giving them a bend of about 90 degrees. It differs in that each of the valve seats meets the combustion chamber surface via a cylindrical surface (8) centered on the axis of the valve seat and adjoining the larger base (11) of the valve seat's conical surface (12). The depth of the cylindrical surface is more or less the same as that of the conical surface.
