The block (1) has a counterbore (11) whose depth corresponds to the thickness of an adhesive utilized for fixing the block at a coating to be tested. A continuous peripheral lip (12) or a spacer maintains a base (11a) of the counterbore at a distance with respect to mounting plane for assuring the stability of the block and maintaining an axis (20) perpendicular to another plane. The latter plane is defined by a surface of the coating when a lower surface (1a) of the block is applied on the coating surface. An independent claim is also included for a method for adhering a traction block on a coating covering a substrate.
