Thin wind-break, for reducing wind speed by converting kinetic energy into internal friction, consists of screen with knitted extruded monofilament yarns in warp direction and flat strips in weft direction
A thin wind-break consists of a non-sealed, 'see-through' screen, comprising knitted extruded monofilament yarns in the warp direction and flat strips in the weft direction, cut lengthwise from a laminated extruded film and able to be spiralled onto themselves. The strips are wedged in the narrowest stitches of the warp threads. The size of the warp stitches is such that the weft filaments do not adjoin. A thin wind-break consists of a non-sealed, 'see-through' screen, comprising knitted extruded monofilament yarns in the warp direction and flat strips in the weft direction, cut lengthwise from a laminated extruded film. The strips are cut continuously, either on a machine or after being wound on reels, in such a way that each strip can be spiralled onto itself, in a way changing progressively along the finished cloth at every turn of the tube carrying the roll of film. The strips have a variable width of 1.2-7 mm, and are wedged in the narrowest stitches of the warp threads. The size of the warp stitches is such that the weft filaments do not adjoin, providing the required non-sealed character.
