The device (10) has a lock (12) for passage of bags (14) containing previously sterilized stoppers, between a non-sterile external environment (16) and a sterile zone (18) through an intermediate zone (28). A removing unit (20) removes the stoppers contained in each bag from the sterile zone to a containers stoppering machine (22). The lock has an enclosure (26) comprising a wall (32) with a receiving unit (42) that receives bags by tucking so as to maintain the bags in suspension in the zone (28) that is sterilized by a sterilizing unit (46). An independent claim is also included for a method for supplying stoppers to a machine for stoppering containers.
