The mechanism (1) has a body (10) situated above a front wheel, and a pivoting element (20) adapted to be connected to a brake cable which extends across a front yoke. Two brake levers (40) are arranged inside the body and connected in a movable manner to the body by two tubes (42). Each lever has a brake pad (41) connected to the lever. The two tubes are in contact with the element so that the levers are displaced when the element is actuated in rotation. Connection units are connected to two ends of levers and the body in a pivoting manner so that the levers are displaced simultaneously.
