The handle assembly (20) consists of an ornamental plate (21), an anchoring plate (22) with notches (241) at its upper end (24) to engage with spring-loaded fixing mechanism (30) catches, and an extension plate (40). The anchoring plate's upper end (24) is inserted into the fixing mechanism attached to the back of the blind so that only the ornamental plate remains visible. The blind can the be raised or lowered by gripping the ornamental plate and lower end of the anchoring plate between thumb and forefinger. Where necessary the extension plate can be attached to the anchor plate to gain extra height.
