Object identifier involves simultaneously detecting radiofrequency signals, transmitted by active transponders of a set of objects in a detection zone, using antennas (6). Characteristics representative of power of the detected signals are processed and analyzed using a personal computer for distinguishing the objects entering the detection zone and objects already present in the zone. An independent claim is also included for a device for identifying objects entering a detection zone.
