The device has a pre-mounting unit (3) introduced simultaneously in orifices (81, 91) of a structure element (8) and an equipment part (9) of a motor vehicle, respectively and comprises a central hole. A screw (7) is introduced in the hole via an end part (35) of the unit. A nut (5) is arranged on the unit via another end part (37) of the unit and co-operates with the screw, where the unit, screw and nut are made of synthetic material. The unit and the screw comprise four ribs which block the nut in rotation with respect to the unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a part on a structure element of a vehicle.
