Single-use cosmetic article (A1), comprises at least one water-soluble substrate in the form of a nonwoven formed by entanglement of polyvinyl alcohol fibers, which are soluble in water at = 350[deg]C; and anhydrous cosmetic composition borne by the support, containing at least one oil (preferably fatty acid esters and/or liquid petroleum jelly) and at least one nonionic emulsifying surfactant that is soluble in the oil or mixture of oils, chosen from oxyalkylenated fatty acid esters of sorbitan and/or oxyalkylenated fatty acid esters of glycerol. An independent claim is included for a cosmetic process for cleansing or removing makeup from the skin, involving placing article (A1) in contact with the surface of the skin; moistening the article with cold water; placing the moistened article in contact with the skin and dissolving the article in water at least 350[deg]C.
