The method involves establishing a table of intensity values of electromagnetic waves, that are polarized, emitted and reflected on a surface e.g. route, at an angle according to a predetermined sampling, permitting to determine reflectometric characteristics of the surface. Dissymmetry of distribution of the values with respect to a reference value is quantified, by calculating centered third order moment with respect to the reference value from a specific relation, for correlating diffusion phenomena of the surface. The reference value is arithmetic mean value of intensities. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for estimating a structure of a surface (2) a method for estimating a polarization factor of a surface (3) a method for estimating depolarization factor (4) a method for estimating adherence of a surface.
