The piston has a body (10) including a guide track and a sealing (12). The guide track and the sealing are cylindrical in shape. A circular base (14) adapts the shape of a cylinder in which the piston slides. The base is close to the bottom of the cylinder when the piston is installed in the cylinder of a radial piston engine. The base of the piston presents an additional recess in a cradle (22), where concavity of the recess is opposed to a recess (18) of a top (16). An independent claim is also included for a method for a piston.
