The process of cleaning the groundwater flow having contaminants, comprises injecting oxygen in a permeable massive underground filter placed in the groundwater to degrade the contaminants that flow in the form of a plume. The massive filter is placed to intercept the plume transversely to the direction of the flow, and comprises a reactive part (1) and a protective part (2) upstream of the reactive part compared to the direction of the flow. The oxygen injection is of purely diffusive and carried out in the reactive part through microporous polymeric membrane. The process of cleaning the groundwater flow having contaminants, comprises injecting oxygen in a permeable massive underground filter placed in the groundwater to degrade the contaminants that flow in the form of a plume. The massive filter is placed to intercept the plume transversely to the direction of the flow, and comprises a reactive part (1) and a protective part (2) upstream of the reactive part compared to the direction of the flow. The oxygen injection is of purely diffusive and carried out in the reactive part through microporous polymeric membrane. The quantity of oxygen injected into the massive filter per unit time is adapted such that the reactive part is in aerobic conditions. The reactive part has a total porosity equal to 50% that decomposes itself into air porosity (70-90%) and water porosity (10-30%). The reactive part uses support for the development of native bacteria that ensures the degradation of the contaminants. The reactive part comprises materials of peat, pozzolan, corn cobs and lupine tree. The protective part comprises materials of gravel, fine gravels and all materials made up of quartz or silica whose size is 20-40 mm. Independent claims are included for: (1) a device for cleaning the groundwater; and (2) a process for installing the massive filter.
