The joint (1) has an inverse U-shaped rigid plastic body (4) including a base (5) and lateral walls (6, 7) defining a receiving space (8) receiving an edge of a body. A flexible plastic wiper lip (12) has a free end (13) supporting against a movable lateral window glass. A co-extruded flexible plastic layer (22) is placed in an upper part of the body, where the layer has an overlength (24) projecting beyond the base at the level of an end (23) and constituting a noise barrier integrated to the joint. The layer forms an insulation between the body and a rigid trim panel. An independent claim is also included for a method of fabricating an inner/outer window sealing strip type shaped joint.
