A free standing watering can catches rain water through a broad, conical shaped funnel 1 at the top of the can serving as a filling attachment. The funnel collects rainwater freely as it falls onto the filling attachment by gravity. The can fills up with rainwater depending on the amount of rainfall the filling attachment is exposed to in the open air. The watering can may also be filled up manually from a domestic water supply by removing the attachment. The can is made from blow moulded plastic and has a cavity to store water inside.
