摘要
Excavated, knotweed-contaminated soils and clays are spray drenched with Tordon¹ 22k or other weed killer to a depth of one metre. A further one metre layer of knotweed-contaminated, excavated material is then laid on top of the first layer and also spray drenched and the procedure repeated as necessary, the weight of the layers creating a pressure to ensure that the weed killer seeps into all the stockpile mound materials and eradicates all the knotweed roots, crowns and stems. If knotweed regenerates on the top surface, the latter is spray drenched again when the regenerated plants have reached a height of 100mm then left for 14 days before being dug over at a depth of one metre.
