PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can execute secret printing by a smaller number of keys. PSOLUTION: The printer is equipped with an operation part, which has a plurality of operation keys and outputs a key code preliminarily assigned to a pressed operation key in response to pressing of the operation key, and a CPU which receives (S21) authentication information composed of a combination pattern of a plurality of the key codes together with printing data, temporarily stores (S24) the printing data in response to reception of the printing data and authentication information (YES in S23), and prints the printing data on condition that a pattern for the operation part to output a plurality of the key codes agrees with the authentication information received together with the printing data (YES in S27).
