PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the total yield and collection of taxol and other taxanes from the cell culture of Taxus chinensis. PSOLUTION: This invention is a method for enhancing the total yield and collection of taxol and other taxanes from the cell culture of Taxus chinensis and comprises the following three steps: step (a) the cells derived from the callus tissue of Taxus chinensis are cultured by suspension cell culture in the first nutrient medium suitable for rapid growth of the cultured cells; step (b) separated from the first culture medium, taxol and other taxanes are produced in the isolated second nutrient medium wherein the second medium is suitable for the biosynthesis of taxol and taxanes in the cultured cells and the second culture medium includes elicitor; and step (c) taxol and other taxanes are collected from the cells and/or the production culture medium for the cell culture.
