INTEGRATED SYSTEM FOR WATER TREATMENT, OF LOW-POWER CONSUMPTION OZONE GENERATOR AND CDI DEIONIZATION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-contained integrated system for removing all harmful substances in water containing both ionized substances and neutral substances as water contaminants in a cost-effective and safe manner.;SOLUTION: In order to conduct electric capacitive deionization (CDI), a filtration capacitor 6 is used to remove ionized contaminants in water while electrically neutral contaminants are passed through an electrolytic ozone generator 3 for decomposition. Upon ozone treatment, gaseous or ionized substances are produced. Upon a passage of the gaseous or ionized substances through CDI, the ionized substances are secondarily removed. An ozone/CDI composite technique of the electrolytic ozone generator 3 and the FTC capacitor 6 is an effective method for removing harmful substances in water, integrates ozone generation with the FTC capacitor in CDI and can realize water treatment with low-consumption energy and without secondary contamination.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
