PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discover such novel molecules as to give photoreceptors having a hole mobility higher than that achieved now by conventional hole transport molecules, and to provide processes for synthesizing the same.;SOLUTION: An imaging member containing an asymmetric arylamine compound includes a substrate, a charge generating layer disposed on the substrate, and a charge transport layer disposed on the charge generating layer, wherein the charge transport layer is obtained by a process including a step of producing a substituted intermediate by condensing a first arylamine with a bromoiodoaryl or chloroiodoaryl compound in the presence of a copper catalyst, and a step of reacting the substituted intermediate with a second arylamine added in the presence of a palladium catalyst.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
