METHOD FOR PROMOTING OVIPOSITION OF CULTURED PRAWN AND APPARATUS FOR PROMOTING THE OVIPOSITION

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and stably assure good quality spawns of a quantity as large as possible for a long time by realizing an environment in which natural mating is always possible in promoting oviposition, and enhance production efficiency by reducing parent prawns used for the oviposition. PSOLUTION: Male and female parent prawns are held in a same water tank and mating is induced by removing noises of feeding and discharging water, falling and vibration. As the mating is brought to be always possible, unfertilized spawns are reduced and hatchability of the spawns is kept in a high level for a long period of time. In this case, it seems good to increase female prawns, but the quality of prawns is reduced when the female prawns are increased more than a proper ratio. By further investigation on the proper ratio of the male to the female and efficiency, relatively large numbers of good spawns can be stably harvested for a long period of time, when the ratio of the male to the female is brought to be 1.0:1.5-2.0.
