PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing data preparation device for preparing sewing data for making stippling stitches by a sewing machine easily.;SOLUTION: Regular hexagons are arranged in a sewn area and a contour line net is prepared by connecting the contour lines. A stitch route start point and a stitch route end point are determined on the contour line net, side segments close to the outer periphery of the sewn area are traced with the stitch route start point as a start point and an initial stitch route is prepared to the stitch route end point. Attention is paid to the hexagons belonging to branch points on the initial stitch route and a route is moved so as to make the route longer. Further, the route is moved so as to be longer for all the branch points of the stitch route after being moved as well and processing is repeated until it can not be moved anymore. By moving the branch points on the stitch route, the stitch route is deformed and a deformed stitch route is prepared. The deformed stitch route is made into a Bezier curve, a needle location is arranged on the curve and the sewing data are prepared.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
